Why the Hell Do Teens These Days Think Weed Isn’t Bad?
Question by ?????? ?: Why the hell do teens these days think weed isn’t bad?
I swear, teens these days are just being plain ignorant when they say weed isn’t harmful. First off, that stuff kills brain cells. Second, inhaling ANY type of smoke is bad for you! “It’s never killed anyone,” they say. Maybe not the weed directly, but being high and going driving? Getting lung cancer? Yeah, weed CAN kill!
Here’s a quote:
“The smoking of cannabis [marijuana] is the most harmful method of consumption, since the inhalation of smoke from organic materials such as cannabis, tobacco, and rolling papers can cause various health problems.”
“A 2007 study by the Canadian government found cannabis smoke contained more toxic substances than tobacco smoke.[27] The study determined that marijuana smoke contained 20 times more ammonia, and five times more hydrogen cyanide and nitrogen oxides than tobacco smoke.”
“Some studies have found that children of tobacco and marijuana-smoking mothers more frequently suffer from permanent cognitive deficits, concentration disorders, hyperactivity, and impaired social interactions than non-exposed children of the same age and social background.[58][59] A recent study, with participation of scientists from Europe and the United States, has now identified that naturally occurring endocannabinoid molecules play a role in establishing how certain nerve cells connect to each other in the fetal brain.[60][61][62] Another study examining cannabinoid receptor proteins (CBRs) expressed in brain cells of mice determined that endogenous endocannabinoids assist in directing brain cell directional development while in the womb.[63] The researchers suggest that elevated blood THC levels due to cannabis consumption would affect brain development of human fetuses.”
“There is some evidence that dependence on cannabis can exist in some heavy users. One study with 500 heavy users of cannabis showed that when trying to cease consumption, some experience one or more symptoms such as insomnia, restlessness, loss of appetite, depression, irritability, and anger.[67]” Therefore, once people quitting marijuana experience these symptoms, they are more likely to return to weed to relieve them of these experiences.
“Cannabis use has been assessed by several studies to be correlated with the development of anxiety, psychosis, and depression.”
I’m absolutely sick and tired of teens thinking weed isn’t unhealthy. Does anyone else agree? Did anyone else have any misconceptions?
For the record, Wikipedia has millions of professionals monitoring the information that has been changed. If someone incorrectly edits, it’s usually changed within the next few minutes. Both my mother and I have taken advanced computer courses.
“but it isn’t gonna kill you” — Ahem, it can.
Okay, I’ll rephrase my “teens these days” statement. Teens of any day have been ignorant if they think weed can’t hurt you. “It’s just like smoking a cigarette” — Which is also stupid and completely unhealthy, and, as mentioned before, weed is actually WORSE than cigarettes.
