Abstract Despite decades of eating disorder (ED) research, studies of factors involved in long-term EDs are still lacking. This longitudinal study investigated the role of maintenance variables in a transdiagnostic adolescent ED sample. Participants included 275 adolescents who underwent specialized ED treatment. Hierarchical linear modeling confirmed a significant growth pattern of maintenance factors, wherein there was initial increase, then a decline during treatment, followed by a slight rebound post-treatment. Refractory status did not predict the variability in maintenance curves, suggesting that although this growth pattern existed, requiring a second treatment encounter did not explain the differences found in these patterns. To carry out clinical diagnosis and treatment of Fasciola gigantica infection during an outbreak in Yunnan Province.Data on epidemiololgy, diagnosis and treatment were collected from 27 patients. A questionnaire survey to the patients and partial villagers was carried out including history of raw food-eating and pet-raising. Animal feces were collected and examined by precipitation method and eggs incubation method. Cattle from two patients families were dissectd to find Fasciola infection. Serum samples from patients, family members, and villagers were detected. Possible intermediate snails were collected from the vicinity of streams and ponds in 15 villages where patients lived.The earliest onset of symptoms among the patients was on March 10, 2011 and the last case was on January 10, 2012. The clinical manifestations were mainly fever with unknown reason, decreasing hemoglobin, increasing eosinophils, and hepatosplenomegaly. No parasite eggs were found in feces. Antibodies against F. gigantica were positive by ELISA in 23 patients. Fasciola eggs were then found in 4 patients’ feces on February 16, 2012. F. gigantica eggs and adults were found in the hepatobiliary system of dissected cattle. Triclabendazole [10 mg/(kg x d) x2 d] was administered orally for the patients and the clinical symptoms eased. Snails including Physa acuta, Radix swinhoei and Galba pervia were collected and cercariae were found in only one snail.An outbreak of F. gigantica infection has been confirmed and the diagnosed cases effectively treated with triclabendazole. [Eating behavior in patients with diabetes mellitus].

To study the specific features of eating behavior (EB) in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM).One hundred and seventy-eight patients, including 128 with type 2 DM and 50 with type 1 DM, were examined. Questionnaire survey, general clinical, and laboratory studies were conducted.The patient groups did not differ in educational level and gender. In the patients with type 1 DM, the duration of the disease was longer and the incidence of complications was higher than in those with type 2 DM. Carbohydrate metabolism was decompensated in the majority of the patients with types 1 and 2 DM. A higher normative score if only by one of the disordered EB (DEB) scales (according to the DEBQ), was found in 68 and 78.9% with type 1 and type 2 DM, respectively. The patients with type 2 DM were more frequently ascertained to have restrictive EB. The patients with type 2 DM and restrictive EB were more aware of the disease, more often checked blood glucose levels themselves, and were better compensated. The proportion of patients with external and emotiogenic EB did not differ between the groups, the latter type was registered less frequently.Disordered EBs were detected in many patients with DM.
