Enter “depression clinics” in the WebFerret search engine, or your own, and try the Google and Wikipedia websites. Some, I know, are in the ads at some of the websites at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 2: depression treatments, but, if you use those treatments, you may well not need the clinic.

Hello, I am a psychologist in Minnesota who works in a counseling clinic. Answering your question depends on what your needs are, where you live and what you seek. If one is imminently suicidal or homicidal, the most important thing is to seek immediate care at a local emergency room. Psychiatric hospitalization in community hospitals is usually brief (anywhere from 24 hours to a few weeks) and is necessary only when someone is in danger of harming themselves or others or cannot care for themselves outside th hospital.

If one has a long-standing depression, the mental health research suggests that the vast majority of people respond to a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy and anti-depressant medications. It is also important to visit your medical physician prior to treating depression with therapy and medications because their are a number of physical conditions which can induce symptoms of depression.

Many people who have long-standing depression also have a history of family problems. It is important to treat the depression prior to addressing long-standing family issues.

Not knowing your history and current situation makes it impossible for me to recommend a specific recovery clinic. However, if you have not already done so, the first step might be to make an appointment with a licensed clinical social worker or psychologist in your community. In that way, you can evaluate what it is you need to recover and what the best resources would be.
