What Is the Difference Between “cure” and “treat”?

Question by blahblah: What is the difference between “cure” and “treat”?
Is there an actual cure for depression? or can it be just treated? Because all I see in these advertisements is the word “treat” does that mean “cured” also?

Cure is to get rid of it. Treat is to help make the pain/disease subside (lessen its effects.) You still have the disease but it’s more manageable.

cure is fixing it for good. treat is maintaining it and not let it get worst.
